LEUCHTKRAFT

LEUCHTKRAFT was created especially for the Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt as a response to their call for self-portraits in their 20th-anniversary exhibition. In 2005, I received a grant for the program "Artist in Lab"– a program that aims to facilitate scientific research for artists. It was there that I focused on neurology, researching various topics surrounding the human brain.

Inspired by this research, I created LEUCHTKRAFT, a porcelain brain modeled from MRI images of my own brain. The brain is in constant motion, emits a warm glow, and gives off light signals to the outside, similar to a disco ball.

At the same time, this work is a gratitude to institutions that support creative minds and allow ideas to shine.
