A new chapter in Still Life Stories – multipurpose food containers that both echo and re-interpret classical Vanitas paintings – The Golden Spittle plays on the ephemerality of food and explores the impact of halting or intervening it its decay. These serving plates, bowls, and cups take the shape animals that are simultaneously lively and cadavers. It is intended as an experimental dinner party where the guests are porcelain animals. In addition to the animal food containers the installation features vessels that take organic and abstracted forms from inside of the body.
